Biography


 

DaCap Woodwind quintet’s life is short but intense, due to they have won many prizes in chamber music competitions during the few years they have been together.

 

The most recently prize they won was the International Music Competition Salzburg Gran Prize Virtuoso (June 2016), but in November 2011 they were awared with the fisrt prize in I Concurs Internacional de música de cambra La porta clàssica-Matas i Ramis. This allowed them to perform in the same centre in the same Matas i Ramis civic centre, in Ateneu Barcelonés in the cichle “ Cicle de música Porta Clàssica” and at Museu d’història de Catalunya in the cicle “30 minuts de música al museu” organized by Mas i Mas foundation.

 

In april 2012 they performed on the Catalan Parliament as a part of the celebration of the day of Sant Jordi, where they were received by the president of the same organism, Núria de Gispert. In May of that year they obtained the first prize in the “X pòdiums of music Chamber music” school of Sant Joan de Vilatorrada and the first prize in the “11ns premis d’interpretació musical” organized by the conservatory Isaac Albéniz of Girona.

 

In november 2012 they also won the third prize of “11e Concurs de Música de Cambra Montserrat Alavedra“ in Terrassa, organized by Juventudes Musicales from Spain.

 

 They have also won the second prize of the “1st Concurs de les comarques Gironines DBUT!”, organized by the association of Juventudes Musicales of Girona, prize with which the group took part on a CD that wil come later.

In october 2013 they were awarded in the Concert-Competition el Primer Palau in Barcelona. A month later, they were awarded with the second prize of the “80th permanent contest of Juventudes Musicales" of Spain, which took place in Málaga.

 

They have performed in the distinguished Juan March Foundation in January 2015 and in International Dance and Music Festival of Granada (FEX) in July of the same year,  and also in other areas such as L’Auditori of Barcelona, L’Auditori de Girona, the cloisters of Sant Domènec (University of Girona) and at radio network COM RÀDIO. 

Recently they have been part of the chamber music festival Músics en Residència in the town of Alella together with other renewed musicians and have been finalists in the Salieri-Zinetti Chamber Music Competition 2016.
