The Rite of the Spring

Being The Rite of the Spring one of the most relevant works of the XX century, in this part of the work we try to explain some elements to understand the context of those years and improve its performance.

Looking at the characteristics of the compositional technique of Igor Stravinsky, we expose how the idea of designing a ballet of such importance and characters who intervened. We found the appearance of folklore as a recurring tool throughout the development of the work. As such, we analyze some of the most popular themes of the piece found its roots in Russian popular culture and how they are rewritten by the composer to acquire a more personal and unique character.
